Specialist boosts 3M BIC's health expertise
The 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (3M BIC) has appointed Dr. James Allen as a health innovation specialist to advance its initiatives in health and wellbeing.
This appointment aligns with preparations for the upcoming Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre, set to open in 2025 as part of Huddersfield’s National Health Innovation Campus.
Dr. Allen, with a PhD from the University of Huddersfield and extensive industry experience, will oversee the development of the interim maker space at 3M BIC and support new enterprises with technology adoption and collaborative R&D.
He said: "I am thrilled to join the 3M BIC and contribute to the development of the new health and wellbeing innovation centre.
“This is a great opportunity to support the growth of pioneering health and wellbeing enterprises by leveraging cutting-edge technologies like additive manufacturing and virtual reality.
“I’m looking forward to collaborating with entrepreneurs and researchers to drive innovation that will have a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing sectors across the region."
The new centre aims to drive regional innovation, offering bespoke facilities and fostering partnerships across health and wellbeing sectors.
