Building firm disposes of North Shields business
A County Durham building services firm - which employs 400 workers - has agreed to sell Hastie D Burton Ltd after a downturn in trade.
Northern Bear had previously issued a profit warning for the year to March 31, blaming its performance on the severe winter before Christmas.
The Chester-le-Sreet based company operates 13 businesses and had previously said trading conditions had improved.
However, the uplift had reportedly not been sufficient for the company to trade in line with market expectations.
The Company has confirmed it will sell North Shields-based building firm Hastie D Burton Ltd to Datewood Builders Limited for an undisclosed sum.
Hastie Burton provides general building services to clients across the North East of England and has suffered as a result of the prevailing economic climate.
