Photo competition seeks views on change
A North East borough council has launched a photograph competition as part of a consultation with residents on development plans. Blyth Valley Borough Council is inviting residents to submit a photograph of a building, street or part of a town that they would like to see change, along with an explanation of how it could be improved.Carol Schulz, local plan officer at the council, said: “We’re hoping to get some good ideas on what improvements and regeneration projects people would like to see in Blyth Valley, perhaps highlighting areas that our planning policy team has not yet considered. This in turn could help to influence future planning policies and regeneration strategies. We will not be looking at photographic technique, but at how innovative, original and exciting the idea is.“Entries will be judged in two categories: under 18 and over 18, and the winner of each of these groups will receive an Apple iPod. For more information and to enter the competition, visit the council’s website at www.blythvalley.gov.uk.
