New office bolsters UBS' Northern presence

A global wealth management firm has strengthened its North East presence with a move to a prominent city centre location.

UBS Global Wealth Management has relocated to 1 Citygate, Newcastle, signing a five-year lease for office space in the heart of the city’s business district.

Situated on St James’ Boulevard, bosses say the new office will “strengthen” UBS’s position “at the heart of the business landscape” in the North East, providing greater accessibility for clients across the North of England and Scotland.

Debjani Raffan, regional head for the North of England at UBS, said: “Newcastle is one of the great Northern cities posing significant economic potential, with business confidence in the North East on the up and tech among the sectors projected to drive growth.

“Our new office is at the centre of all the action, strengthening our position at the heart of the business landscape and supporting our ambitions for growth in the North East, as well as across the wider Yorkshire landscape.”

Allister Hogg, client advisor in UBS’ Newcastle team, added: “We already work with many business owners and entrepreneurs across the city, and our new Newcastle office location is on the doorstep for many of our existing and prospective clients.

“Our new office is also located at the gateway to the city with great road and rail links, making it easy for us to visit our clients across the North East and beyond.”
