Work starts on £1.25 million York North revamp
A real estate investor has launched a £1.25 million business park refurbishment it says will help ease market demand.
Paloma Capital is renovating a “significant part” of York North.
The work includes the revamp of a 12,508sq ft industrial unit and comes after the operator secured planning approval to create four further warehouses, spanning 34,400sq ft, at the Sutton-on-the-Forest site.
Leeds-based JP Wild has been appointed to carry out refurbishment work, which is earmarked for completion in November.
Jeremy Thiagarajah, director for asset management and investment at London-based Paloma Capital, said it will give York North – formerly known as Green Park Business Centre – an edge in the marketplace.
He added: “We are pleased to start works on a large part of the estate to deliver more modern space for prospective occupiers.
“York North is already well recognised for its locational benefits and our sustainable approach to repurposing existing space will certainly deliver against undersupply for industrial and warehousing space in this area."
